Robert Joynes Presented at the Inaugural BIO Africa Convention

Robert Joynes participated as a speaker on a panel discussing how to leverage intellectual property to fund biotechnology innovation at the inaugural BIO Africa Convention held in Durban, South Africa this week.  Robert’s lecture focused on hurdles biotechnology patent applications face in the United States, including issues arising under 35 U.S.C. §101 and § 112(a) (written description).  Recent case law and USPTO guidance were presented along with tips for overcoming these hurdles.
