Sulay’s practice at Wenderoth focuses on the preparation and prosecution of biotechnology, chemical, and pharmaceutical patent applications. Sulay has significant experience in crafting and implementing IP strategy, counseling clients in identifying and managing IP risks, litigation, drafting and prosecuting patents, and providing IP support for business development and collaborations.
Prior to joining the firm, Sulay spent over 10 years in private practice, and over 5 years in-house as intellectual property counsel at a neuroscience company and at a gene-editing company.
Sulay’s practice encompasses a wide range of technologies including:
- Molecular and Cell Biology;
- Pharmaceuticals and Formulations;
- Chemical Engineering;
- Electrochemistry; and
- Polymers.

Before his law career, Sulay served as an AAAS Policy Fellow at the Environmental Protection Agency focusing on nanotechnology, and a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Naval Research Laboratory.
